His Grace is the gift that allows us to forgive

Wednesday, March 04, 2015

We have all been victims of the inequity of life. We have all suffered pain and betrayal. Perhaps we were passed over for a job promotion, or were diagnosed with cancer. Perhaps our marriage is not fulfilling, or we’ve lost our lover. Perhaps our financial future is bleak, or our child has died, or we’ve lost someone or something near and dear to us. Life is not always kind and it is rarely fair.

If your life has been damaged or disabled by a rough road, there is help available.

Through that help you can renew and rebuild your damaged life. You can start over again and change your course from a downward, twisting, disappointing path to a superhighway to peace and happiness.

God is our PRESENT help! His Grace is the gift  that allows us to forgive.

Open your heart to the Lord and ask Him to help you. It is the SPIRIT of God that gives us life! He alone can change bitterness to love.

The Grace of God working in us will allow us to forgive the origin of the offense bringing us comfort and joy.

When we forgive we shed all the layers of anger, bitterness and resentment that cover and cloud the beauty of our own soul.

We might find that there is more to life than the pain that we have inflicted on others or that has been inflicted on us.

We might see goodness growing and evil being driven away. Most importantly, we might see our heart becoming pure. And, Jesus said that when our heart becomes pure, we shall see God. Imagine it. We might see God. With our own eyes, we might see God.

To forgive means we no longer allow that event to determine your life.

And you certainly don't forgive others to do them a favour or "kill them with kindness". No! You forgive to be free, to be liberated from the destructive power of anger and hatred. The problems of the past no longer dictate our destinies, and we can focus on the future with God’s love in our hearts.
