You can't earn God's love and blessings

The Lord God walked in the garden and talked with Adam and Eve as a man talks with his friend (Genesis 3:8).What a glorious sight to see. God of the Heavens talking and walking with a man.

But that communion with God was disrupted by sin. But thanks be to God, Jesus was send on our behalf to restore us, to a higher degree of that relationship. Jesus died so that you and I can have that glorious privilege with our heavenly Father.

And that is how much Abba Father loves us.  He wants a personal and close relationship with each one of us. There is nothing we can do to qualify or disqualify ourselves from His love if we have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Jesus' blood makes us acceptable to God.  And along with His love comes total unconditional acceptance of us.  He won for us God’s full approval. We cannot have grace without the Cross. But because of the Cross, we have full access to God’s grace (Hebrews 4:16)

[adsenseyu1]You can't earn God's love and blessings.

We are blessed with every spiritual blessings in heavenly places through Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3). There is nothing we did or can do to qualify for the blessing and favour of God. He already decided on His own will  that He wants to bless us.

Sometimes we can become so distracted from our mission which is fellowship with God, and concentrate our efforts into works of  ministry that we have little if any time for fellowship with God.  This distortion of the relationship that we have with God makes us prone to self-righteousness and an arrogant sense of superiority. Usually when people are preoccupied with work it's because sub-consciously they believe that they will earn God's blessings.  But Paul says that is NOT possible to earn God's favour and blessings (Ephesians 2:9...."not by works, so that no one can boast") .

Our efforts to earn God’s love and grace are not the Gospel at all. In fact they are a classic form of pagan religion. They are not different from sacrificing a lamb to the gods to ensure good crops. They amount to an attempt to purchase God’s favour, to pay the price that will put God in debt and oblige God to give you what you have earned. And Paul says in Hebrews that when you work you do earn wages...but God accepts faith only (Galatians 3).

The good works that God has already given us are not meant for that, they are meant to be "ministers" of God's Grace and Love to the world - nothing more, nothing less.  You won't be reward more because you have worked harder. Jesus made it clear that God is generous and He  will reward each one according to His own discretion  (Matthew 20:1-16)
Mathhew 5:16 ~ Let your light so shine before men, that they may SEE your good works, and GLORIFY your Father which is in heaven.

God desires that we respond to Him out of love and devotion. Our motivation in serving Him and others is to be solely because we love Him, not because we think we have to do certain good works to please Him. We can never do enough to thank God for sending Jesus to the cross. We can never do enough good works to equal what Jesus did in dying for your sins. We can never do enough to compensate Jesus for His sacrifice on our behalf.

All we need to do is to believe in Jesus' finished works and receive God's blessings of Grace in faith and allow it to transform our lives in Jesus name.
