6 Characteristics of a Godly Woman

Many women today face a serious battle in forming a positive, healthy view of their own identities based on the image of Christ. The world’s views have somehow made its way into many women’s lives. But God has called us out of the world into His marvelous light.

That is why it’s important for us to spend time working, by the Grace of God, to become godly women, directing our energies towards our inner character.  The Bible has many verses and examples of a Godly character. It’s important that we spend time reading and applying those scriptures in our everyday lives.

Here are the 6 Characteristics of a Godly Woman that we want to focus on:

1. Desire God.  All of our hungers point to the deeper hunger that only God can satisfy. He alone can perfectly satisfy our heart’s longings.

Scripture: I stretch out my hands to You; My soul longs for You, as a parched land. Selah ~ Psalms 143:6

2. Spend time with God. A life of significance starts and ends with a close, personal relationship with God. He alone puts everything else into perspective.

3. Love who you are in Christ. Remember that it’s God who has started this good work in you and because He is faithful, He will complete it.

Quote: There can be no “discipleship” without a willingness to learn, unlearn, and relearn, nor “mentorship” without submission, accountability and humility - Elder Benjamen Long

5. Be Determined. Purpose to accomplish your God given goals regardless of the opposition that you face. Take a stand and be determined to believe God.

Scripture: Let us run with determination the race that lies before us. Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end - Hebrews 12:1-2
