When your world is falling apart

When your world is falling apart, it’s so easy to focus on the pain, the problems, the pressure and the difficulties. Being a Christian, believing in God, and going to Church does not safeguard you against life’s struggles.

Most of the people we read about in the Bible faced heartache, pain, and persecution.

And often defeat comes on the heels of our greatest victories, when we think we are done and can coast.

You may have had a dream implode before your very eyes. Your career may have taken an unexpected twist. People may have hurt you. Your health may be failing. You maybe be questioning the call of God on your life.  The list can go on and on.

Even Jesus Christ had His time in Gethsemane when He just wasn’t sure He could finish the Father’s business. He cried out as we all do: “please take this bitter cup from my lips, Father”.

But the cup does not disappear just because we cry out.

At times, life can seem so cruel, but we must never give up on God and His plan for our life.

Besides, God does not let any of His daughter to play the victim or wallow in self-pity.

When your world is falling apart

Your circumstances might be raging at you but God has a solution for you.

We need to learn to bloom where we are planted.

The first thing I found to be helpful, is rather than trying to get the solution to make God do what I want; I work on strengthening my inner life, getting the emotions out of the way; and starting to remind myself of the promises of God, and building the spirit man.

Perspective is an amazing thing yet so hard to have in the midst of the struggle and discouragement hence Paul said “renew your mind” (Romans 12:1-2).

The lack of hope we’re experiencing is more about our perspectives than the circumstances we’re encountering.

Our mind needs to be reprogrammed to reflect truth, God's truth.

Christian women are spiritually victorious or defeated moment by moment, and day by day, in proportion to the thoughts they think.

And the Biblical process of the renewing of the mind is much more than positive thinking. It is the most important key to actively believing God and utilising His power.

When you renew your mind, your faith becomes more real, your creativity begins to ignite more and you look for new avenues , news ways to do things.

You may never know the answers to some of life’s “whys” and “what’s.” And your job is not to figure out why it happened. Your job is to “renew your mind” and choose not give up until you cross the finish line.

Read and study God's Word. Think about it and meditate on it. Immerse yourself in it. "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly." (Colossians 3:16)
