Honesty is the best policy

Honesty is the best policy. This is not a cliche but a Biblical truth that is the very  essence of who we should be as Christian women. But unfortunately Christian women get caught all the time lying  and that contradicts the tenets of Christianity.

What is a lie according to the Bible? A lie is anything that is not the truth. Only God’s Word is truth.

Basically, when we do not keep our word we are guilty of lying.

People usually lie to impress people or create a false image of themselves in the eyes of others.

Unfortunately lying corrupts the liar.

Sadly we all tell lies at one point or another, for various reasons. Christians are people, with all the attendant flaws and weaknesses,

But having said, we are BORN AGAIN. Born of the Spirit of God and of His Life! We are no longer of people of this world.

When we do lie we should REPENT of that lie, and come forward with the truth. We shouldn't just tell a lie, and then just mentally accept it as justified.

When we do that, we are no longer operating in the Spirit of God.

Satan is the father of all liars - John 8:44

Honesty is the best policy

The Bible has a lot to say about honesty, as God has called Christian women to being honest people.

Even little white lies to protect someone's feelings can compromise our faith.

And each of us have had our trust in people undermined, or in some cases even destroyed because of lies.

Lies always have consequences and someone is bound to get hurt.

I have watched so many Christian women lie to others, lie about others, and cause irreparable damages to their fellow sister in Christ.

With so many Christians breaking their word, it's no wonder the secular world looks on us as hypocrites.

Keeping our word should be as important to us as God’s commandments, because through keeping our word, we keep His Word, and the love of God is perfected in us.

Honesty is a direct reflection of our inner character. Our character is forged and our character is revealed by the promises we make and the promises we keep, or don’t make or don’t keep.

You can tell a lot about a person by how they treat the promises they make.

If Christian women would just start telling the truth, I can clearly see how much we could clean up within the Body of Christ in a very short amount of time.

We should represent our Father well in this life and be honest and free from fabrication and lies.
