What are you thankful for?

What are you thankful for? This is a great question, and one that I feel we should ask ourselves more often, even if only to remind ourselves that things could be worse.

A day never passes without us hearing some kind of bad news. Some days this horrible news overwhelm us with all kinds of negative emotions and we forget to look at the bigger picture and give thanks for all of the things that we have been given.

Being thankful can make all the difference in the world. It is one of the many “secrets” that God has given to us for live a fulfilling life.

Gerald Good once said, “If you want to turn your life around, try thankfulness.  It will change your life mightily”.

We have so much to be thankful for.

Being thankful provides a perspective from which we can view life, in its entirety, and not be overwhelmed by temporary circumstances.

Being thankful gives you the insight and capability to perceive the beauties and blessings that God creates.

Being thankful makes sense of our past, brings joy and peace of mind, body, and soul to our present, and creates vision for our future.

Studies have also shown that people who regularly practice feeling thankful have a leg up when it comes to their health.

What are you thankful for?

If we don’t learn to be thankful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy - we will always want to have something else... or something more.

May today we remember everything God has done for us... all the times God has delivered us...and all the times that God has blessed and intervened in our lives.

May our praise come as naturally as our breathing.

May we notice and appreciate the wonder of each new day.

You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being ~ Revelation 4:11.

Dear God, thank You for Your unfailing and eternal love.

Just take this time and reflect on all that you are grateful for today.  Tell us, what are you thankful for?
