Thoughts about prayerlessness

Prayerlessness is a sign that says that we have little desire for our fellowship with God. It shows our trust rests on our own efforts than on the power of God.

Why people don’t pray:

1. Prayerlessness is a sign of pride. Pride prevents people from receiving help from God. Proverbs 8:13
2. Prayerlessness shows a lacks of faith: Anything that is not of faith is a sin in God’s eyes. And when we don’t pray we show that we don’t believe that God will do what He promised. Hebrews 11:6
3. Prayerlessness reveals our unwillingness to let God work in our life (Luke22:41-44)
4. Prayerlessness opens the door to sin our lives. In Matthew 26:14 Jesus said, "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

Two powerful qoutes on prayerlessness:

God prompts His people to pray and then acts in response to their prayers. Things happen or don't happen because of prayer. This does not mean God can be manipulated through prayer to do what we want if what we can’t is contrary to His will. Instead, God reveals His will to us by His Word and works in us by His Spirit so that we know His will and pray in accord with it. Then, in responding to our prayers, He accomplishes both His will and ours, and, in the process, involves us.' ~ Alvin J. Vander Griend , Your Prayers Matter

'The reason why many fail in battle is because they wait until the hour of battle. The reason why others succeed is because they have gained the victory on their knees long before the battle came... Anticipate your battles; fight them on your knees before temptation comes, and you will always have victory - R. A. Torrey

Jesus said:  keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak - Matthew 26:41.
