Let love rule your life

So many times I feel compelled to share the truth, but I never want to cause another woman or man reading this website to stumble in their walk with God.

Sometimes I wonder if what if what I am about to share is God's truth because I don't want to miscommunicate or misrepresent God’s truth. Lately I have been very frustrated with those that claim to have truth so I wait literally on the Lord to guide me.

My heart literally breaks for the Church especially for Christian women.

There is this spirit that’s going around to try and break a lot of women in the Church. The attacks on Christian women have significantly increased from both women and men. But for me it’s really sad when it comes from another Christian woman.

Personally I want to be biblical in my posts, be encouraging to other women rather than tearing them down, reflect the love of Christ rather than bitterness, refrain from perpetuating conflict, stereotypes and all kinds of things that have nothing to do with Jesus.

Let Love rule

I feel that the standards laid out for most Christian women is unattainable! Most of those "opinions" have nothing to do with Jesus or His plan for the woman’s life.

Scripture has some grey areas about certain issues (how to get a husband; type of husband to get; kind of work to pursue; what clothes to wear, etc). I know that God has placed the responsibility of that grey area on the woman who is faced with that problem and God expects that woman to to seek Him.

Instead we get the one rule fits all hence the bickering and fighting. What's good for you is not not necessarily good for another. If the Bible doesn't give a definite answer to someone else's problem, you have not right to force yours down their throat.  Instead encourage them to seek God rather than give your opinion.

I cringe at the idea that there is ONE type of godly woman in the Church; that if you don’t’ do this or that then you will never be a true Christian woman.  That’s a lie from the devil and it’s sad that he’s using many so called Jesus’ followers to achieve his goal.

We are called to love as we were birthed in love. Our motives should always be to build up rather than tear down. To be peace makers!

Believing that we have the "right" to hand out advice or thinking that our way is the only way is not the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ.  And secondary issues are not a sin.

I pray that we let love rule our motives and words; and that we make sure that what we say and do is consistent with scripture.

God has a purpose for each one of us. And what one is called to, another may not be. So instead of passing judgement, let us pray for, and lift each other up.

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God" ~ Colossians 3:16
