God’s Word works

Did you know that right now you are the product of what you’ve been saying? Yes, your words carry that much power. As the scriptures indicate, they can create and destroy, build and burn down, save and condemn.

Hebrews 4:12 says - For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the thought and attitudes of the heart. NIV

Usually when we have problems (mountains) in our lives we talk about them, but God's Word instructs us to talk to them. Jesus said that we must to speak to our mountain in faith, commanding it to be lifted up and thrown into the sea. (Mark 11:22,23)

Look around you and if you don’t like what you see, don’t speak that, rather speak the Word of God only that has power in it to change all that you see now. In order to change what you have, you have to change what you’re saying.  The words of your mouth are the seeds that determine whether or not what you have is from heaven or hell.

Maybe your life is not where you know it should be. Do not despair; you are not at a dead end. All of us can be victorious in everything we do when we follow the lead of Jesus. Throughout the Bible we are told to:

  • Meditate on God's Word (think about and repeat over and over again to ourselves)

  • Pray God's Word (the only way we can be sure to pray according to the will of God)

  • Speak God's Word (like Jesus did when He was tempted to be discouraged - spoke it out loud to Satan)

By meditation, praying and speaking God’s word with your mouth you exercise your faith, you hear the Word and you build it into your life. God's Word is anointed and has power to change the spiritual atmosphere (Joshua 1:8; Romans 10:10). For only when we seize and are seized by the Word of God do we know the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe (Eph. 1:19).

The word of God tells us that sin will not dominate us. All of us have areas that need to be changed. When we meditate, pray and speak God's own words over our lives we are diligently depositing in our hearts building materials to construct our lives. The Word itself contains the power to produce what it says. Just as when God said, “Let there be light” and there was light, healing Scriptures contain within them the capacity to produce healing and restoration.

If you believe God's Word, and use it as God intended for you to use it, then the Word will begin to work in your life. God says that He watches over His Word to perform it.  That means that He is waiting to hear you and me speak forth His words to Him so He can then act on what He said He would do.  Once we speak God’s Word – it is activated and it will come to pass in our lives.

We also need to be consistent. Remember God started saying that Jesus was coming in the book of Genesis. He said in all the books of the old testament until we read in book of John that “and the world became flesh”. So this tells me that this is a way of life. We need to make up our minds and our hearts that God’s word is priority in our lives.

So, I encourage each of you today to read God's Word, meditate on God's Word an speak God's Word out loud. This is not being over spiritual but super spiritual. We all want results and God’s word produces results! Stay blessed.
